Basically everywhere. Here are a few of the most popular:
Digital Library
It’s very likely that your library can lend you a digital copy. We distribute through Draft 2 Digital, and they distribute to many vendors used by public libraries. You don’t have to feel bad about not supporting the author either. These services pay the author when a library purchases lending rights!

Local Book Store Availability
Unfortunately, the reality is that brick and mortar bookstores probably will not have it in stock but they should be able to order it.
This is because the way the book industry works is weighted heavily against small publishers. The large publishers have created an environment where book stores expect to be able to destroy or return books that they ordered for a refund. They can do this any time, even if they just ordered the books and then something else comes out that they want the space for. They build this flexibility into their pricing and business models of course and understandably prefer books that offer this service.
Unfortunately, when this happens to a publisher that does not own a physical printing press, the cost of the refund is born entirely by the publisher (Ingram-Spark agreements remove all risk from Ingram-Spark, and the author/publisher is forced to reimburse Ingram-Spark for the return). Thus, the cost of a return/refund is much larger than the profit on a single sale. So if a store or chain ordered ten books, sold seven and returned three the publisher/author makes almost nothing, and any more returns would be a net loss.
As a small publisher, Zmancy Books can’t offer return service. This is why smaller web outlets and Local Book stores may charge more for our books. Until sales volumes are high, all it takes is one or two stores that are too optimistic to wipe out most of the profits. Also, it opens up the possibility of misbehavior in the interaction between Ingram and Amazon as one author found out (the hard way) https://www.tiktok.com/@rebecca.thorne/video/7389381361574104366
Worse yet an unscrupulous competitor could team up with a book store to place large orders and then return large numbers of books to force fledgling competition out of business. So we’d love for stores to carry our books, but we can’t absorb the risk that is “industry standard” for large publishers.
Zmancy Books is happy to work directly with and support local book stores. Send email to publisher at zmancy dot com if you wish to purchase copies directly. We typically keep about 50 copies in stock, and without the middle man the price can be better for everyone.
